Sendai Space Hall, along the Kyushu Shinkansen railway line holds the event in which you can enjoy and know about space and the shinkansen through interesting experience corners.

It is an annual event by Kagoshima Airport.
Lots of events such as JAL’s airplane class, special products sale and other things will be held.

KOTSUKI-GAWA RIVER FESITIVAL
（甲突川リバーフェスティバル）

Kagoshima Kankyo Mirai-kan will hold this event. You can enjoy various events such as making paper lantern, nature game, treasure hunting by parents and children, making Japanese sweets and more activities.
A concert along Kotsuki river at nightfall looking at Kotsuki river reflecting candle lights is also nice.

SENDAI OTSUNAHIKI
(SENDAI GREAT TUG-OF WAR)
（川内大綱引き）

About 3000 young men pull a huge rope which is 365m long and 5t weight. The gangs of people who block the pulling of the rope and the people pulling the rope fight. It is so vigorous that this event is called “Kenka zuna (Fight tug)”.
Warning: this can get really rough at the front of the rope.

Traditional Dance troops on the street, music bands and mikoshi parades will be held. Stage performances such as taiko performances and other things will also be held.

The flea market will be held in “Minami-satsuma Furusato So-odori Festival”

KUKINO HIGAN-BANA MATSURI
(KUKINO RED SPIDER LILY FESTEVAL)

A festival full of red spider lilies in Kukino area, Satsuma town. Stage performances, local farm products sale, explanation about “Ta-no Kami (Japan’s rice field god) by children ,and other things will be held.

NANSHU JINJA REISAI
(NANSHU SHRINE AUTUMN FESTIVAL)

It is an annual festival which is held on the anniversary of Takamori Saigo’s death.
“Sego-don-no Enko (walking along the places which are connected with Takamori Saigo) will also be held.

OYAKO-ga IKU FLEA MARKET KAGOSHIMA MAMMOTH FLEAMA 2011 AKI
(親子が行くフリーマーケット
かごしまマンモスフリマ 2011 秋)

Annual flea market “Oyako-ga Iku Fleama”. It will be held at “Marine Port Kagoshima 4th Anniversary Event”. It is one of the biggest flea markets in Kyushu!
Various events will also be held. There are food and drink booths, too.

Large scale flea market! If you want to clean out your place and make some cash, apply for your booth now! You can park at your booth, so you don’t need to carry heavy stuff.

MINAMI-OSUMI TOWN NEJIME DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
(南大隅町ねじめドラゴンボートフェスティバル)

About 100 teams participate from in and out of Kagoshima and abroad. 10 people in a boat (8 rowers, 1 helmsman, 1 cox) race 380m.

KAKEROMA-JIMA HALF MARATHON
(かけろまじま はーふ まらそん /
加計呂麻島ハーフマラソン)

A half marathon race will be held in Kakeroma-jima, one of the Amami islands.
There are 5 courses; Half Marathon (21.0975km), 10km, 5km,, 3km and Ekiden (10km, 4 people / team).
8:30 ~ 14:30
Participation fee: J.H.Student and up 3000 yen / E.S.Student and below 2000 yen
*T-shirt, ferry fare and insurance included.

SAIGO-DON OKARIBA MARATHON
(西郷どん御狩場マラソン)

There are 3 courses. 10km for J.H.S.students and up, 5km and 3km for E.S.students and up.
Enjoy running in Sendai. This place is famous for an onsen loved by Saigo Takamori called Sendai-taki Onsen.
The course is surrounded by beautiful nature.
A raffle will also be held.
