Streetcars move swiftly along the middle of the main streets of Kagoshima.
It is part of local people's life, and a very important form of transportation for students, business people, elderly people, and mothers with their children. Tourists also use the streetcar, and the scenery of Kagoshima seen from a streetcar will remain in their memory of Kagoshima.
In Japan, streetcars were abolished due to the advent of the motorcar society. However, now streetcars have been looked upon again as a solution for mass transportation. It helps to keep a good environment, avoid traffic, and help the aging society.
